I wanted to have a lazy day with my boyfriend last Sunday so we went to have brunch at Mercato Centrale which is just near my home. I’ve visited this place for two times already and I’m still not done trying out all of the stalls. It was so hot that day! It was a good thing that there was a manageable amount of people so it wasn’t crowded.
The food I’ve taken a photo with are the ones that I’ve given a go for the week. I love the Taclings, they’re mini tacos that come in six per pack, and the kebabs but I was a bit disappointed with the bagnet and lechon kawali flakes. I thought it would have tasted like something out of the ordinary based on the reviews I’ve read on the internet. They weren’t bad, they were just ordinary.
I’ll give the market another go next time, but for next week I think I’ll be trying the food stalls at the Legaspi Sunday Market.

The Manila Bay sunset is definitely beautiful to look at. Who would have thought that there would be many birds still nesting around it’s polluted coastlines? Nature is definitely amazing, don’t you think so?
But, what we’re here for, braving the crowd and all, are the last of the fireworks show for this year.

Fireworks are so dynamic and that’s why I love them. The world just becomes extra amazing when wonderful things like this happen. Until next time.
Let’s take a break from Indonesia again.
Last Saturday, I went to see the 2nd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition held at MOA. Awful traffic and the mall was teeming with people who don’t know how to form a proper line, but it was all worth it when the show finally began.

First on the stage was China. When it comes to this country they truly like to go big. The grander the better. I was oohing and aahing by the middle of the show. I didn’t like the song selection though. It was typical classic music. They could have chosen a better playlist.
France, on the other hand, began in a more subtle manner. I thought they wouldn’t be able to compete against China’s grand spectacle. The first song that they’ve chosen started very slowly and quietly and I think that became their big advantage because it felt like they were trying to tell the audience a story. It starts with an exposition that slowly builds up to a climax and then slowly falling down to the denouement. Unlike China who was focused more on whipping the audience to adoration, France likes to charm and tease. The presentation was classy and the playlist was engaging to the ears.
The show truly reflects the difference between the two countries. I’ll be watching the last show, Philippines and Australia. I’m excited to see what kind of front the Philippines will be showing to the world.

Here’s my pathetic attempt at taking firework photos without a tripod. Definitely not recommended. I’m thinking of investing in a tripod this week for my Canon G11 (though I wish it’s a DSLR instead).
